Pondsama Introduction

Pondsama is the latest edition to the Moonsama Multiverse, it is our upcoming browser-based 5 on 5 autobattler.

Pondsama and its battle system has been designed in a way that it's so simple it can even run in a command line. This allows us to run the game on fully decentralised hardware.

The vision for Pondsama was spawned on May 7th, the general idea proposed was to implement NFT fishing in our legendary Carnage event.

Promptly a competition was organized to design metaverse NFT fish for the metaverse fish ponds.

Only 5 days after the initial announcement the following amazing progress was already reported.

This second addition to our Multiverse carries with it all of the opportunities and challenges of balancing both the Pondsama game and it’s place in the awesome Moonsama Multiverse. In the early stages of release Pondsama will be play-tested, the end goal of Pondsama is a balanced and fun game that can be played by anyone and anywhere.

⚠️
Please note: Subject to change This article explains the current state and public-facing plans for Pondsama. All information is subject to change. Skills, natures, passive abilities and Artifact impact could see tremendous overhauls.

The Heart of Moonsama

While the specifics of design are subject to change, the Moonsama team will deliver a highly balanced and FUN Pondsama metaverse game, which is integrated with our Moonsama Minecraft Metaverse.

The heart of Pondsama is Moonsama’s 2-hour Carnage Event which takes place each and every Sunday from 16:00 UTC to 18:00 UTC, it is the main source for gathering required Pondsama resources.

💡
Currently exporting resources from Carnage has been halted, except for aFish.

Metaverse Fishing Mechanics

The mechanics of going fishing in the Moonsama Minecraft Metaverse are crucial to know so you can catch as many aFish as possible which you can use as a resource for summoning Foundational NFT fish.

All information you need to ensure you can enjoy Metaverse fishing during Carnage is described here, beware however to keep an eye on your surroundings, it’s Carnage after all 👻

📣
Please note, Moonrod, Alpha Bait and Alpha Fish are soulbound which means that they will not be dropped if you get killed in Carnage!

Moonrod

To go fishing for NFT fish in the Moonsama Metaverse you need a Moonrod.

image

The awesome Moonrod can be crafted in the workbench menu for the following resources:

  • 500 aWood
  • 300 aIron
  • 100 aGold
  • 7 aString

The Moonrod works exactly the same as the regular fishing rod, you equip it in your right hand, right click to cast, wait for the bubbles and then right click to catch your aFish or something else…

📣
Fishing for aFish is only possible with your Moonrod and only works in open seas above ground!

Moonrod Buffs

Specifically for the Moonsama whales amongst us, we will buff the Moonrods with the Lure enchantment, this will be based on Moonsama power:

  • 1+ samas = Lure 1
  • 10+ samas = Lure 2
  • 20+ samas = Lure 3

This is done to avoid Whales having to fish for an unreasonable amount of time to catch enough aFish.

Alpha Bait

The next thing you need to go fishing in the Moonsama Metaverse is Alpha Bait:

image

Usually resources can be gathered directly in the Moonsama Metaverse, however the highly efficient Alpha Bait is special, it can only be crafted in the workbench menu for the following resource:

  • 1 aGrain

📣
Please note: after you craft your Alpha Bait it needs to be enraptured on Moonsama Multiverse Portal before it becomes available in Carnage.

Alpha Fish

Now you have to tools you need to go fishing in the Moonsama Metaverse!

The next step is to catch as many Alpha Fish (aFish) as you can during Carnage.

image

For 1 Alpha Bait (aBait) you will catch 1 Alpha fish.

image

Additional Pondsama resources

For Pondsama an additional resource has been added to our Multiverse which is represented by the already highly sought after $POOP tokens, these are generated by our on chain/bridged NFT Fish. Each week 10.000 $POOP tokens are distributed to NFT Fish holders, proportional to holdings.

image

This already renowned resource is produced by your NFT Pondsama Fish.

No Grind FUN - Leaderboard

As Pondsama design and build progresses, resource generation will continue to be based upon community inclusion and grind reduction which is typical for p2e games. Emphasis will always be placed on the “fun” aspect of gaming.

One example will be the leaderboards for Pondsama which might be used to grant additional $POOP resources. To prevent grind experience, due to players feeling like they must grind high levels of game wins, leaderboards will be based upon players win percentage after completing 20 games, rather than total wins.

Getting Started with Pondsama

Pondsama, as mentioned earlier, is a 5v5 autobattler, to engage in battle, you must have a 5-Fish squad available to fight.

Obtaining your squad is the very first example of interoperability and interactivity between our games, which is one of the Moonsama Project goals.

Summoning NFT Fish

If you’ve been playing in our awesome Carnage Events, you likely have more than enough resources to obtain a squad of fishy fighters.

Beneath the sunken ancient city of Madelin lies "The Sunken One". Little is known about this mysterious ancient beast so far.

image

NFT Fish will be summoned by donating the following resources to "The Sunken One":

  • 10 $aFISH
  • 500 $aStone
  • 100 $aWood
  • 50 $aIron
  • 20 $aGold

To summon your NFT Fish follow these steps:

NEON NFT Fish

Akin to Moonsama lore, there will be a possibility of minting a NEON fish.

There is a flat 0.1% chance to mint a NEON, making them extremely rare (1 in 1000).

Future Pondsama NFT Ponds

Pondsama is still developing at high speed, this means that specific plans are not set in stone yet. However developments will keep coming!

The video below gives an impression what the future ponds might look like:

What Can You Do With An NFT Fish

Once Pondsama launches, your NFT Fish will automatically earn their proportional share of the weekly $POOP inflation. There are 2 scenario’s for earning $POOP.

First scenario:

In this scenario all you need to do is simply hold the the NFT Fish in your wallet/ bridge and participate in at least 10 battles with your squad of NFT Fish over the course of a week.

This number of battles will take around 1 hour to complete, please note cooldowns have been implemented so battles can not be fought consecutively.

However it is designed in such a way so that you can complete all battles over the course of a week, which will provide more player flexibility.

For this scenario, there is 5,000 $POOP allocated each week.

Second scenario:

Players that wish to get their hands on a little more $POOP can participate in 20 or more battles to try and make it onto the Pondsama leaderboard, for an additional share of the weekly $POOP inflation. For this supplementary scenario, there is 5,000 $POOP allocated each week as well.

You can battle more times each week (for fun!) which will impact your win percentage, but there are no other requirements to earn these rewards. However, there are more coming features:

  • You will be able to display your Moonsama and NFT Offhands in your Pondsama fishbowl, both of which may give stat bonuses (and costs) to your NFT Fish during battles;
  • You will be able to display 1/1 art NFTs in your Pondsama Fishbowl;
  • To round out a squad, you will be able to rent NFT Fish for use in battles by paying $POOP; and more!

🔜  More information regarding Pondsama battles coming soon..

NFT Fish Breeding

In the future, breeding NFT tier 1 NFT fish to obtain absolutely mind blowing NFT fish will become possible.

Please note that the tier 1 NFT fish have 3 specific types (Organic, Infected, Mecha) and each fish has its own random statistics, traits and other attributes.

This means that breeding these foundational fish together will result in next level metaverse NFT fish. Below diagram gives an idea of possible pairings to breed metaverse NFT fishes.

image

Breeding will be released once sufficient play testing has been completed.

🔜  More information coming soon..

Next additions:

More information will follow as Pondsama develops further, you can expect information for topics such as:

  • Battles
  • Renting fish/ scholarship possibilities
