Set up Moonriver and Moonbeam Networks in your MetaMask Application
After you have successfully installed your MetaMask application and created or imported your account, the next step in this lesson in to setup the Moonriver and Moonbeam networks. These are not available out of the box with in MetaMask and need to be setup specifically. First PC setup is discussed, then additional steps for mobile are outlined.
Moonsama RPC Network Setup for PC
There are several methods to add the Moonriver/MOVR and the Moonbeam/GLMR networks to Metamask (“MM”). It is advised to add both networks as they will both be relevant for Moonsama. Two possibilities will be discussed here:

2. Click on the "Connect MetaMask" button:
3. Select the network you wish to add first, in this example we selected Moonriver first. Please note: Once you have added either network using this method, adding the second network will jump immediately to step 6. If relevant the Moonbeam screens have been added in these steps:
- Now MetaMask will pop up and ask you to select the account you wish to connect to the site mentioned in step 1, tick the box for the account:
- Click "Next" in the screen above, now MetaMask will ask you if you wish to connect, it also informs you that this will enable the connected site to view your addresses:
- Click "Connect" in the screen above, now MetaMask will ask you if you approve that the site mentioned in step 1 adds a new network (screens for both Moonriver and Moonbeam are shown here):
- Click "Approve" in the screen above, now MetaMask will ask you if it can switch the network screens for both Moonriver and Moonbeam are shown here, this can be switched back easily in MetaMask if you want.
- Click "Switch network" in the screen above and you are done! Now go back to step 3 for adding the Moonbeam network, as mentioned adding the second network will skip to step 6. When both networks have been added they are visible in MetaMask:
- When you have added both networks to your MetaMask it will be able to interact with an array of DotSama assets such as $MOVR, $GLMR, $ROME and MineCraft resources such as aWood!
Manual Custom Network Setup
In Addition to the method described above, you can also choose to add the Moonriver/MOVR and the Moonbeam/ GLMR networks to MetaMask (“MM”) manually. As mentioned is advised to add both networks as they will both be relevant for Moonsama.
1. Start your MetaMask (“MM”) and go to 👉 Settings -> Networks -> Add Network.
2. Now input the network data as shown below:
Moonriver Chain name: Moonriver RPC: https://rpc.moonriver.moonbeam.network ChainID: 1285 Symbol: MOVR Block Explorer: https://moonriver.moonscan.io
Moonbeam Chain name: Moonbeam RPC: https://rpc.api.moonbeam.network ChainID: 1284 Symbol: GLMR Block Explorer: https://moonbeam.moonscan.io
- When you have added both networks to your MetaMask it will be able to interact with an array of DotSama assets such as $MOVR, $GLMR, $ROME and MineCraft resources such as aWood!
Moonsama RPC Network Setup for Mobile
In this section we will discuss Moonsama RPC (Remote Procedure Call) Network setup for mobile. Although it can be very convenient to have the Moonsama RPC Networks on mobile, please note that we recommend to interact with https://marketplace.moonsama.com/ through PC or Laptop.
The steps for setting up Moonsama RPC Networks in MetaMask mobile are quite similar to the steps for PC or Laptop. To avoid repetition we will only go into detail for specific MetaMask mobile steps. If steps are similar to PC or Laptop with slightly different screens then we will refer to the PC or laptop steps outlined in that section.

Automatic Network Setup (easiest) for Mobile
To setup the Moonriver and Moonbeam networks on MetaMask Mobile, you can use the same method as described for PC or Laptop. However before you can start with this an additional step is needed.
1. Open the browser in your MetaMask mobile application 👉 Menu -> Browser.
3. Click on the "Connect MetaMask" button.

In Addition to the method described above, you can also choose to add the Moonriver/MOVR and the Moonbeam/GLMR networks to MetaMask (“MM”) Mobile manually. As mentioned is advised to add both networks as they will both be relevant for Moonsama.
